Parkland Foundation adds development personnel

DALLAS - Parkland Foundation has named Janet Harrison director of development and Cindy Scott development officer. Harrison and Scott joined Parkland Foundation in February, bringing years of experience in the Dallas philanthropic community. Harrison comes to Parkland Foundation with more than 15 years of experience at various non-profit organizations in Dallas. She served the last four years at Susan G. Komen for the Cure, most recently as a senior advisor of affiliate strategy and planning. As director of development, she will reach out to potential donors and strengthen the Foundation's rapport with those who share Parkland's passion and vision for the community. "As I build relationships with donors, I can be proud of the way their donations will be spent," Harrison said. "Parkland is an institution that represents the conscience of the community, both for me and for many donors. I am truly proud to be here." Development Officer Cindy Scott has spent the last 21 years working for United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and most recently as a major gifts officer at Children's Medical Center of Dallas. Her fundraising was instrumental for the hospital's recent expansion campaign. At Parkland Foundation, Scott will help raise charitable gifts, primarily for the I Stand for Parkland capital campaign. "It's a unique opportunity to be involved in the building of a new facility at Parkland," said Scott. "Parkland Foundation has had unprecedented success for a public hospital foundation, and I am very excited to be a part of this team." The I Stand for Parkland capital campaign was publicly launched in September 2008 to raise $150 million toward a new hospital for Dallas County.
