DALLAS - Kurt Dierking has joined Parkland Health & Hospital System as vice president of facilities support services.
He began at Parkland on July 14 and will oversee engineering, environmental services, linen, clinical engineering as well as the Parkland Police Department.
"What drew me to this position was the challenge to use my experience, education and skills to help in the changes that Parkland will be undertaking in the new facility," Dierking said. "Everyone who I had the privilege of meeting during the interview process made me feel at home and very comfortable. I was impressed with the professionalism and team approach that was apparent throughout."
Dierking has spent the last 16 years in facilities management, most in the health care field. He comes to Parkland from Banner Health Systems in Mesa, Ariz., where he served as director of facilities services. As west & gulf coast regional facilities manager for Crothall Facilities Management, he managed 15 sites with 3,000+ hospital beds and 200 full-time employees.
"Along with his experience, Kurt brings an enthusiasm and vigor to assist Parkland as we strive to be a high performance organization. He has a focus on staff empowerment and development and a strong 'look forward' attitude that will serve us well as we look to a future in a completely new environment," said Walter Jones, senior vice president of health care facility planning and development.
Dierking received a bachelor's degree in facilities management from Colorado State University and a master's degree health care administration from the University of Maryland. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the International Facility Management Association and the American Society for Health Care Engineering. |
